Hello all,
My name is Jody. I am new to the site & new to photography. have been taking digital photo's for a few years. I started with an olympus point & shoot. It never seemed to scratch the itch for quality photograhpy. I now shoot with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. I have been reading up on how to use it. Since I have never taken any type of photograhpy class, I am very unfamiliar with the photograhpy terminology. So please forgive me if I sound inexperienced & uneducated. I am trying . I also have no experience in photo editing. I have photoshop & trying to learn this program also. I attached a link to a couple of the photo sites I have created with some of my photos. Feel free to give feedback on them & ways to improve their quality. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chevyninja/ http://s282.photobucket.com/albums/kk256/chevyninja/ I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Hello to all.
I'm an avid outdoorsman, spending a large portion of time "out there" roaming the wild and wide open spaces. I live in the western region of the Edwards Plateau, deep in the Texas Hill Country. Much of my photography is simply doing what I love to do. I was introduced to photography, many years ago, at a Grade School sponsored photography/film development program. I shot 35mm film through the years, leaning on Vivitar 400/SL and Canon A1 bodies. A lot of my focus, during these years, centered around my experiences served in the US Coast Guard (20 years). Most of this early film stock is now un-useable. I certainly wished, the digital world we have now, was available then. I transitioned over into digital photography the moment Canon released their 350D. I'm very comfortable shooting film or digital gear in manual mode. I find the challenges posed with closing the distance, pursuing wildlife photography, is an absolute hoot for me! I never know, from day to day, what my lens will bring or what my eyes will see. Hi,
I'm Jim, and an almost retired Project Manager living in COLD Indiana. I'm an old school B&W film shooter, who has recently jumped on the DSLR bandwagon with the purchase of my new Nikon D40. Digital shooting is SO much more different than my old SLR film cameras, but the work to get a good shot is still there !! I'm really enjoying this, and have started the steep learning curve with my latest acquisition: PhotoShop CS Extended.... Hello to everyone...I hope to learn a lot from the fine folks here....

My name is Leightan and I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I started in photography years ago with the purchase of a Minolta AE-7. I still have it along with several lens, but I don't use it anymore. It still works, but it costs money everytime the shutter moves so I use my digital which doesn't cost anything to operate.
I switched to an Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom, however, I got frustrated with hunt and seek zoom. It takes great pictures but not if the image is moving. Last Christmas I received an Olympus E-510 with a two lens kit and a speed light. I recently added an Olympus E-3 and two more zoom lens along with a Monofotto tripod. I just took a course at the local college on Photoshop using CS3 and I bought CS4 Extended. I am currently trying to learn how to use the digital cameras without the automatic settings and the Photoshop. I have been a member of DPS for a while but haven't posted anything yet. I am in awe of some of the shots I have seen on this website, but I am learning what I should be looking for in a good photo.

Hi everyone!
I'm Amy, from North of England, but currently living in N.C., U.S. I've been lurking for quite a while, and just got a new camera last week (Nikon D90) so I figured I should introduce myself. Used to do a lot of photography many years ago with a 35mm, been using little p&s cameras the past few years, mostly just for photos of my kids (I have four!). Looking forward to gaining lots of knowledge from the board to take some great photos! |

Hey hows it going?
My name is Jay Kilgore (obviously) and I got into digital cameras after putting up a big fight. I hated the thought of giving up my Hassy, but once I started using my Canon EOS Digital Rebel, I fell in love. That was 5 or 6 years ago. Now I teach photography workshops on lighting and can never going back to film. |
