Wink Hello

I just registered today. My hobby is photography. I started last year. I always love taking pictures, but just normal pictures (birthdays, weddings, etc). Last year, I started seeing more visions, like layering photos and creating my own creation. I found this forum when I typed "silhouttes", so I registered. I am a new baby in photography and reading the article would surely help me improve my newfound hobby.

I tried uploading an avatar, but I encountered problem doing it, sooo don't know what really happen but I'm still happy to have found you guys.

O well, I see me he he he so I guess, my avatar has no problem...thank you

Hello, I'm Allen from Cottonwood shores, TX. I'm married with two kids ages 11 and 14. I first got into photography while I was stationed in Okinawa with the US Airforce back in the mid 80's. I still haven't switched over to digital yet. I figure I should gather as much information as I can before forking out the dough.

Hi I'm Jeannette,

I'm from Perth, Western Australia where I live with my husband and 6 yr old daughter.

Until now I've been using a compact Pentax Optio for a few years but just this week I purchased a Canon S3. I wanted to move away from just using the Auto mode and try something a little more creative.

I have a couple of holidays planned this year and joined the forum to learn new techniques and how to use this S3 properly. There is such a wealth of info here and I have learnt a few things already...read, read, read, practice, practice, practice.

Thanks

Things to ask yourself here are what equipment do you use now and will any of that be usable when/if you do make the switch or at least the addition. For example, if you are shooting a Canon SLR right now, most of your lenses and such should work on a Canon DSLR so that would be a good place to start your search and save some money initially.

Everyone should feel free to ask any questions they may have, in here or, preferably, starting a new topic or finding a similar topic that fits what you are asking.

G'day all, Macca here. I live in the Blue Mountains just out of Sydney, so I have a ready made area for photography. Had a PNS for a few years until my eldest son broke it so now have a Canon 400D.

Hope to learn how to take better pics with the help of this site.

I'm known as Zedmacca on Flickr, someone else already had Macca, imagine that eh

Cheers

Macca

Hey everyone!

I'm Jason. I'm 23 and from Regina, Saskatchewan. (In Canada).

I just got into digital photography in summer 2006. Started off with a Canon A75 and quickly switched to a Fuji S9000. How ever the whole non removable lens made jump to a Canon EOS 400D.

Looks like quite a bit of info on this site witch is what I am after. I hope with the info I can improve on my new found hobby.

Hey all. I'm Sergio, and I love photography (obviously). I'm not good at it yet, but hopefully I will get better soon. I just bought a Canon Rebel xti, which I'm truly impressed by, since I used to own a point and shoot camera. I can't post any of my work yet because I don't have a memory card, it's coming tomorrow though! I mainly like to photograph live bands, but I'm open to all types of photography. Hopefully I can learn a thing or two here.

EDIT: I guess I should include some background information as well. I'm 17 years old, I live in California. I am in love with music, I play in a band and I play guitar. I also have this 2am hobby, which is making websites and kinda make a living out of it as well.

EDIT #2: Rian Flynn is the person who inspired me to become a photographer.

Hi I am Mandy, I am 27 and live in South Africa. I am a first time mom to Ashton (2), Fiance to Louis and mom to my cat beezwax.

I really became interested in Digital Photography when I started digi-scrapping, and it has since become more of a hobby than my scrapping I started out with a Sony DSC S40 point and shoot, and have now upgraded to a Fuji F5600 which I am in love with.

I am really looking at improving my photgraphy as I am still very much a beginner!!

Hi to everyone!

My name's Matt, I'm 35 and I've been living in Long Beach, California, since 2004. I'm from South Wales - the original one :-) - and I've been into photography since 2000. My first digital camera was an Olympus CamMedia 1.3Mpx, followed by a Fuji 6900Z, a Fuji S7000 and last month I bought a Rebel XT.

I'm still getting used to the XT and hopefully joining this site will help. I'm mainly interested in macro photography and night shooting but I like all types of photography.
