My name is Gayle & I love taking photos, only I am not too good at it. My daughter introduced me to this site, (hoping to improve my techniques I guess). I use an Olympus C-770, that I've had for about 3yrs now. It takes good pics, although I am saving now to buy a digital SLR. I love photographing the grandchildren and things in the garden, so am looking forward to learning new things.

Hallo!
I am Lia, 29 years old, originally from Germany, but I live with my 5 month old son and my belgium boyfriend in... guess... Belgium for a bit more than 5 years now (And I am desperately homesick!) I got my automatic camera, a Sony DSC P73 two years ago from my boyfriend for christmas and he still regrets having done that. Because since then he got my lense much too often for is taste in front of his nose. And I am of course not stopping there. My son is the beloved object for my pictures. I would never say I am a real photographer, I just like to freeze on picture what time is going to take away always too soon, you could say, the mom crazy for photos of her kid . And sometimes I just get lucky...Apart from my family I also like to get the pure nature on my pictures. We are living in a village, so there is plenty of nature around us, but did you ever notice that there is somewhere always something man made on these landscape pictures? I have Photoshop 7.0 but I still have a lot of learning to do on that. Else I just discovered Picasa as an easy tool to make fast adjustments to my photos. My dream is to get a "real" camera one day, but that will still take a while I guess... See you all around. Lia Last edited by Liacs; 01-09-2007 at 01:35 PM. |

My name is Ron, living in Toronto, Ontario, originally from Conception Bay, Newfoundland. Twenty plus years ago my Contax and Leica cameras were the center of my world. Then, marriage, career, no running about taking pictures. Three months ago after some encouragement from my wife I decided it was time to slow down and relax, ahh photography, so I bought a Pentax DSLR. I absolutely love the digital aspect of photography and hope to improve, with help from evryone in the forums here. Only one small problem right now though. One month to the day after I purchased the camera I took a bad fall and now have a cast from my toes to above the knee. Being on the upper side of fifty the cast has restricted movement a fair bit. Any way, I would like to thank Darren and all those who are involved with these forums and DPS, for it is the best. Thank-you all, for you time and dedication.

Hello, all!!
My name is Virginia, I´m 26 y.o. girl from Spain (Europe) and I have reciently found this fantastic web/forum. It´s not a long time I bought myself a digital camera, Canon PowerShot A710 IS. It isn´t a very very good one, not a DSLR, but considering I´m beginning at photograph and that has a lot of manual settings I think for me it´s just great! I love it I´m enjoying it a lot, getting outside and bringing home a lot of pics and I´m sure I can learn very much from you. See you around!

Hello all
I live in Sydney, Australia and received a point n' shoot digital camera for christmas. I've never owned a camera before, but have been wanting to give photography a go for some time. Since xmas day itself I've taken about 300 shots and a few have turned out pretty good. (please note: at this stage my criterion for 'good' is 'not blurry') I've enjoyed the posts on the DPS blog and I'm happy to be a member of the forum. cheers grilla |

Greetings everyone!!
My name is Gary. I live in Austin, TX and work as a data analyst for the State. I got interested in photography back in the 70's. Had a couple of Nikon SLR's with all the accessories that went with them. They worked fine until digital cameras came along. My first was a 3.1 megapixel Olympus that was excellent for starting the journey into digital photography. When Canon come out with the Digital Rebel, I bought one along with a couple of good Sigma lenses and use this as my primary camera. I also have a Canon SD800 IS. Just got this one, so I'm still experimenting. My partner and I have a house in Colorado which is where I shoot most of my pictures. I love nature photography and the opportunities are pretty much limitless where our house is. I also travel to Canada on a fairly regular basis and have found great photo opportunities there. Here is the link to my Flickr page. Just started it so not a whole lot there. http://www.flickr.com/photos/gwm1952/ I'm always trying to learn how to take a better picture, so any and all comments are welcome. |
