okay, so-
I'm Joma, I've been a US Air Force member for about eight years. I live in Dover, DE but I'm currently deployed to Iraq. I've been interested in photography for about five years now, since I dated a semi-pro photographer. I've never had a film camera and I've barely got a decent point and shoot (Panasonic DMC-TZ3), but I figured I'd learn some basics before I start thinking about gear. I'm excited to learn and actually start shooting great pictures on purpose.

Hi my name is Nige, I have 1 wife & 1 son.
My camera is a Fuji Finepix F10. I enjoy going to concerts & festivals and taking pics there (not always easy getting in;-), if you want to see some of my pics, I have a Flikr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/9163682...7604621976764/ I 'stumbled upon' this forum via a tutorial on pictures of light trails which was proved to me I need a tripod type thingy. I'm looking forward to having time to browse through the rest of this place soon. Cheers all Nige |

Hi Everyone,
I ran across this site as I was setting up my Google HomePage, and have really found some interesting information here. My interest in digital photography has developed gradually over the past 3 years or so, but since I bought my FujiFilm FinePixS8000fd last fall, I can't stop taking pictures. I enjoy editing pictures, as well, and am using Photo Impact Pro. There's still a lot to learn, but with practice, I'll get there. Mostly I enjoy taking pictures of scenery, and trying to find interesting compositions for my pictures. Hope to chat with others who are also learning the ropes of digital photography. Happy Picture-taking! |

My name is Carlos, originally from Spain now living in Texas USA. Started photography some years back with a Canon F1 my father gave me, later with an EOS Rebel. Moved to digital about 5 years ago with an Olympus point-shoot and fell in love with the medium. The freedom to shoot and experiment at will with digital, and getting instant feedback is truly amazing.
I am an amateur looking to grow and become a better photographer - have a very good grasp of the technical aspects of photography, creative vision is my weak point. After browsing this site for the past months I have found new inspiration on your great photographic and creative talents. My equipment includes a Canon EOS 40D with several lenses and few additional accessories (tripod, external flash, filters, etc.) - still use my Olympus C4000. My current interests include portrait, landscape and macro photography. Truly looking forward to learn and share some of my work with you.

My name is Dianne and I live in Colorado. I've had a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-N2 point & shoot for the past year and a half and am having an absolute blast with it. I still use my Canon Rebel GII SLR (film) at times, but look forward to getting a D-SLR (probably an XT) so I can still use my lenses.
I'm a busy homeschool mom of two boys (14 & 13) so photography happens whenever I can squeeze it in. Fortunately, my camera fits in my purse or pocket so just about any time can be a photo op. I want to learn how to do more with manual settings and the more creative side of things, although I've come up with some pretty decent shots even NOT knowing what I'm doing! I've been getting the DPS newsletter for quite awhile now and finally decided to jump into the forums.

Hi,
My name is Geof. I'm a native of Seattle currently finding myself stranded in the Ozarks (they call those things mountains?). I've been into photography since I first picked up my dad's old Nikkormat for some High School projects. After college I bought myself a Pentax P3N and played around with that for a while. I put the camera down for about fifteen years until I bought my wife a P&S digital for Christmas a couple of years ago and discovered the joy of digital photography. I bought myself a Nikon D40 for my birthday last year 'cause I've always wanted a Nikon and I've been having lots of fun with it although I don't get out & shoot nearly as often as I'd like to. G

What? This isn't photographers anonymous?
![]() j/k ![]() I'm Khan Klatt, and I live in the Seattle area with my wife and soon-to-be-born son. I've gotten "serious" about photography just over a year ago. My "first" camera was an Olympus C3030 I bought in the mid 90s. In the spirit of "a camera does you no good if you don't bring it with you", I got a Fuji Z1 (the smallest thing I could find before a trip to the Carribean). But, the image quality wasn't the best (not bad for the size, though), and prior to a European vacation with my wife, I felt it was time to get serious. So I jumped into the SLR world with a Canon XTI, and ever since I've been slowly crawling into the photographic pit of economic no return. ![]() Who knew I'd end up spending over $1000 on a camera and lenses? That's quite a jump from a point-and-shoot/subcompact to a SLR + 3 lenses and a camera bag that weighs more than the clothes you bring to a European vacation. If I make it sound like this is a hassle, let me tell you, I love it! I don't tend to express my artistic side, until I see a little potential of a scene hiding 300mm of focal length away, pull out my camera, make a few adjustments and capture it.
