Hi everyone,
Dave here and I'm from Cork, Ireland.
Because of all the rain we get here I do a lot of indoor photography, not by choice.
Starting taking photos less than 10 months ago and now have a 400d permanently by my side.
Really love this site and look forward to joining in on the assignments now that I have finaly posted a message here.

Hi, my name is mitchell holtz. I'm a music education major at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Just found this site a few days ago and fell in love with it. I'm a curler at BGSU and I also play Euphonium. I got into photography for a few reasons, but mainly because i really enjoy taking pictures and love looking at others. Throw me a message if you have any questions!

Welcome everyone! Don't forget to check the FAQ section.

KJTCS Hi Kelli! How lucky you are to have built-in models for your portraits. Hope they don't mind when mom pulls the camera out! BTW, your princess is beautiful!

Rodwen Hi Katie, that's my daughter's name! How exciting to get your first dSLR! Looking forward to seeing some of your first pics. Feel free to ask questions about anything here, too, especially as you are getting used to your new camera.

Technomadic Welcome to DPS, Sara. Glad to see you tried one of our assignments, and it's right after my coffee shot, LOL! Don't worry, you got it right. See you around the forum!

Irishdave Yes, with that name I would guess you were from Ireland, LOL! Waterdrops was a great choice to try for indoor photography. Since you mentioned all that rain, have you seen this on the DPS blog?

Mitchell Holtz Hi Mitchell, glad you found us! Looks like you enjoy all types of photography, nighttime, wildlife, and sports! Thanks for sharing and don't forget to try an assignment!

Hey everyone!
I`m Craig,18, From Scotland, found the site just through looking for some tips. I`ve been interested in photography for several years now, started after growng up near and RAF base and always trying to get some shots at there anual airshow, and developed from there... Now i`m a trackside photographer (have been for almost a season now) for the supporters website of the local football(soccer) team- the mightly Dunfermline Athletic. Which is giving me my first use of an DSLR (canon 300d) and i`m loving it!

Hello everyone,
I am merrell cotton. I currently am a grad student in the MSSW program at ACU. A friend of mine told me about this website. Once i checked it out i just couldn't get enough. I really enjoy taking pictures, even if it is with a one time use camera or on my phone. What i like most about taking pictures though is the thought of capturing an image, and sharing it with others who would normally not get to see what i see. I feel like through pictures awareness can be and has been raised about things that go on, and i would like to be one of those people raising awareness. I hope to be able to learn and grow from this website and all the really great and cool photographers that are on here already.

My name is Eddie from sunny South Florida and I've been interested in all forms of art since I could remember but my passion for photography is on a completely different level.

Currently enrolled at The Art Institute as a photography student and am looking forward to everything this forum has to offer.

I use a Sony DSC-V3 and I am ordering a Sony DSLR-a350. I should be getting my hands on it about 2 weeks.

Check out my flickr page and let me know what you think.

ERPhoto Hi Eddie, welcome to DPS! Looks like living in SOuth Florida has given you a lot of opportunities to shoot wildlife outside. Is that what you like to shoot the most? Thanks for adding some of your shots to our forum. Looking forward to seeing more!

Default introduction

Hello everyone. My Name is Kate, and currently I am living in New Jersey. I grew up with a darkroom in my basement, and have always loved film photography. I let my hobby slide since high school, so I am looking forward to getting into digital photography and really learning the secrets to getting amazing shots. All the work I've seen in the forums have blown me away and I can't wait until I am able to produce such great shots. My gear is a Nikon D50, and I have a few lenses one being a 50mm f/1.8. looking forward to learning for you all.

Wildlife is definitely one of my favorite subjects and I do seem to have a distinct advantage in the number of opportunities considering where I live. I started portraits (seriously anyway) a few days ago. I'll post a few for some much needed critiques soon.
