netwolf56 Hi David! Glad to see you jumped right in here at DPS. You've got some nice shots on your website. Since you enjoy Photoshop you might like to try one of our "What Would You Do?" challenges. See you around the forum!

ZaneyMama Welcome to DPS, Sarah! With a baby and dogs around you have a lot of photography subjects, as long as they keep still! Have you read some of these posts on the blog? They may help you move off of auto mode. Feel free to ask questions here, too.

Smile Hello Everyone!

Hello Everyone. - Today, 01:49 AM
I just found your site tonight......am looking forward to participating.

I have been interested in photography for many years. I worked in a photography studio for about 4 and half years. I met my husband there through a blind date that my boss set up. At the time I worked in the darkroom runing the black and white photo machines. My how times have changed. That was over 45 years ago. I have been married 43 years.

My husband also loves photography. Over the years we have taken photos but recently really got serious about it. We purchased an Sony Alpha100 (my husband's camera and mine a (Canon Digital Rebel XTi. We also have several small pocket digital cameras and a Sony DSC 717. So you can see we are serious about our hobby.

I am currently enrolled in an on line Camera Basics class....but finding that's not what I really wanted to know. It's more about getting creative shots than the settings on my camera. It's fun but my main interest is in learning about Aperture, the different settings. I am having quite a time learning to get the light right etc.......and I love DOF. I have a 30-700mm telephoto lens for the Canon........we also have the same for the Sony.

I love animals and have 3 dogs and one cat. The two golden retrievers are usually my models for pet photographs. Here was my latest attempt at portraits of my 9 month old Golden Retriever. http://picasaweb.google.com/nswope/S...onthsPortraits

I love to read, walk and train my dogs. Golden Retrievers are my favorite dogs in all the world.

My husband is a retired Postmaster. Our kids are grown. We have no grandchildren and so the dogs are usually our subjects for our photos or when summer gets here.......the flowers are our faovrite to photograph.

We reside in Colorado. I am finding it kind of hard to find things to photograph in the winter time.....so can hardly wait for spring flowers.

Nancy

Hi all,

My name's Tash, I found my way here through threesixtyfive - thanks Sime! Have loved photography for at least 10 years now; first started playing with SLRs when I was nine and have been mildly obsessed ever since. I shoot with a Canon EOS 400D now, that's my main baby, but I also have an Ixus 50 (my happy snappy). At the heart of it I prefer film, but digital is dominant in today's world and the ease of it all is incredibly intoxicating - it's cheaper, quicker, easier, etc.

I studied Photography at school for three years - nothing flash, just high school level stuff, but passed well and learnt heaps. The magic of working in a darkroom is the root of my love affair with film =) I did a little freelance work with the local paper, again nothing fancy, but very exciting at the time, and aside from all that boring "on paper" stuff, I just love photography. I take a camera with me everywhere I go; I shoot anything and everything I find interesting and while very little of that actually makes it online to other people's eyes, it's still there clogging my own computer up!

These forums look really interesting, hopefully I'll slot in okay and can share my "slightly annoying" photography habits with other people who've caught the bug.

Hola Y'all,
My name is Kevin and I own a point and shoot myself (Sony DSC P-93) I joind DPS a while back after stumbaling on to it as a search for online phatography coarses, but I lost my password after signing up. Life got in the way for awhile but I'm back after getting a new pass (and very happy to be here) I have a Flckr acct. to. About 5 yrs. ago I bought my little Sony for the usual but with my art background I wanted to do more and learn more about taking better photos so that I can make it another extension of my creativity and maybe lead into a occupation. It's funny but I can hardley wait to stop typing this so i can work on this weeks monochrome assingment. I also look forward to meeting the peaple here who have put up some truly amazing photos, espescialy the ones I saw posted for this weeks assingment, and learning from Y'all.

Hi,

My name is Nidaa, I am 29, Egyptian and currently live in Kuwait. Graduated from Fine Arts I love everything that has to do with Art, Creativity, and Imagination.

Very recent that I've become very interested in Photography and decided to -just for play- buy a new digital camera (canon IXUS 70). And I got hooked! I'm in love with Photography!
My camera is always on me and I'm taking shots all the time!
I started surfing the Internet to learn more about photography, composition and more, when and I ran into DPS!

I just wish I read more before rushing to buy a camera. Now I want to upgrade this new CAM for one that has Aperture (It's all I'm trying to do now, figure out how to get it with my, minimal control, camera).

Thank you Darren for this lovely blog. It is great help and a great experience for me all together! I learned a lot and only in a couple of days!
I'm learning more every time I log on, and so decided to become a member.

This is all very new to me, so I hope I don't bore you with my beginners Qs or Photos!

B-Regards
Nidaa

Default Hi Blucamels here

Very new to taking my camera out with with me everyday.

An Internet friend of mine told me about this site after getting me to use Flickr. So many thanks to Moi.

I haven't posted yet although I have now started to do the assignment of the week. Most of my photographs are taken in a forest in Brittany France.

Very nervous about posting a picture but I may try this week.

Many thanks for this Photography School it is inspiring.

My brand new camera another FinePix is grand, and I am having so much fun.
