I just got it a week ago and so far it is doing a great job. I am looking forward to see how it works in low light and indoors at my Grandson's basketball games

Crazyfor3d Hi Chi and welcome! You have some nice gear. I assume you used film when you were a news photographer. Do you like the change to digital? With your background, I'm sure you'll have plenty to add to our discussions!

Default Movin' forward, but lookin' back.

Hi everyone,
My name is Gary. I live in Columbus Ohio. Actually a small suburb called Grandview (appropriate, huh?). I have been into digital photography for about 3 years now, and until I found this forum, self taught. I've learned more in the last 3 weeks, since joining, than I've learned in all my time prior. This site, and the knowledgeable people behind it, have saved me years of learning through trial and error. I copy and paste any and all information that Is new to me. I print it out and use it as a step-by-step tutorial to help me solve issues I have in pre and post production. When I'm done (years from now!), I'll probably have a books worth of copied notes. Thank you all, so much.

Hi
My name is Phil Brownlow.
I’m originally from Manchester but at the moment live in wolverhampton. I’m an illustrator and Visualiser.

I’ve been interested in photography for many years and used a lot of 35mm cameras.

I realised recently I’ve tended to only be using my photography for reference for other types of art work so have decided to get back into some photography for its own sake.

I’ve had a compact digital camera for quite a few years (a canon A80) but have just bought my first DSLR, an Olympus E410 and 2 lenses.

I like documentary type photography and have always had a likeing for black and white. This was much more complicated with film as I never had space for a darkroom, now with digital I have no excuses.

I found this site on the net and it looks just like the type of place I need to meet likeminded people, learn new techniques and revitalise my photographic inspiration.

Hi all,

I'm Dan from near Leeds, UK.
Been into Photography for ages now and had a few point and shoot cameras, few months ago bought myself a Nikon D40x. Decided to learn how to really use it and so I am currently doing a NFCE Level 1 in Photography at my local college.

Hopefully I should have something worth publishing shortly.

Looking forward to being here and if there is any questions feel free to ask

Ash

Focalfrenzy Nice to see you finally introduced yourself, Gary! Been enjoying your shots so far. Maybe we'll have you publish "DPS Forum: The Book" for us!

Artbyphil Hi Phil! Lots of people here started with film and switched to digital. Darkroom editing in Photoshop is much easier! I like documentary and b&w shots, too, so I'm looking forward to seeing some of yours.

Ashen Welcome to DPS, Dan. Do you like your college class? Maybe you'd like to try some of our "assignments". What does your class cover?
