Default anything bad ever happen to your camera?

Well this past weekend I was taking pictures at a paintball field. They had some good local teams coming for practice so i figured great time for me to practice as well! About one hour into it a paintball breaks on a bunker about 8 feet away and I get a drop of paint on the lens. Not really a big issue so i go back to my car and get a microfiber and clean the lens. Good as new. I walk back out for the next game, 30 seconds into the game my lens takes a direct hit from a ball that was easily traveling 290 fps( 280 fps= about 195 mph).

all those white spots are paint residue from the paint being on there and the impact. lucky for me the lens still works great! i was just wondering if anyone else has had something similar happen to them with their camera.

Wow you were lucky.
One time I was hiking down a small cliff to get to the bottom of a waterfall and the guy I was with was apointed to hold my camera (Fuji602Z))so it didnt get broke (I'm pretty accident prone) well he dropped it and it bounced off the rocks and landed inthe river.
Amazingly it still worked fine but had a couple of little nicks

My 80-200 got whacked by a cheerleader once, although I think it hurt her more than the rig.

A suggestion from another forum i use for paintball is always use a rainhood (to cover the camera and lens) and filter combination.
