Post Buisness Name??

May I ask any of you good folks, how in the world do you go about deciding what to name your business?

How did you come up with a name?

I just began thinking about photography in general, how it works, what it's all about, what type of pictures I want to take, how I want them to look etc. Eventually I came up with Radiant Images. That's all I got, it is difficult I'll admit! Good luck.

Word of the Day from different places, found something that caught my eye. Worked from there.

We have various companies here in the UK and overseas.

I picked two names from goalscorers at football!

My parents made the decision for me about 37 years ago...I like how they think so went with it...Tiffany Nicole Photography is my official business name. I also operate a group photo "thing" under the name 2*3 Photos (Two Three Photos). That one, God played a hand in...my birthday is the 23rd of February.

Hope that helps a bit...

Thanks everyone for sharing your ideas...

I think I'll plan to cuddle up with the dictionary for a while.

My website name, which may become my business name soon, came from a quote from one of my favorite authors, Henry David Thoreau. Before settling on this name for my website, it seemed like every time I listened to a song, or was reading a book, every catchy phrase became a potential website name. Many were dismissed quickly, some only after I did some research and realized, dozens of other people had the same idea that I had.

Recently I've been considering just using my own name as the name for my business, even going so far as to register my full name as a domain name. I'm still trying to decide which I'm going to use though.

That's the same issue I'm having... I don't want to use something catchy, but not your typical "Say Cheese" or "Picture Perfect".

The easiest thing would be my name, but I'd like to avoid the easy way out if I can.

I think that's great, just the right name will come along. Give it a little more time. Otherwise you will pick something and then the right name will come along and you will slap yourself in the head and say "I coulda hada V8!" lol

I used my name in my business so I didn't have to get a business ID #. So it was pretty easy to come up with.
