I live in Southern California where the weather is nice all year. I take photos all the time. Doesn't matter if it is Winter or Summer.

I like the summer most, just for the reason of avaiblity of the sun, cause until now I just the have kit lens, and it's not fast in low light, so with the sun I can shoot in a fast shutter speed, and have better results.

Summer because I mostly photograph my kids playing sports, swimming, playing with the dog, etc... And it seems that's mostly summertime.

I shoot year round equally. In the summer months I like the presence of all that nature offers here in Alaska, and winter months I'm often with friends riding snowmobile and that offers alot of photo opportunities also.

I take more in the Fall and Winter simply because of the way the academic schedule works. Colleges all have stuff going August-May, and the summers are pretty slow. That will probably change for me in the next year or two, but for now that's how it is.

College has a big influence on my picture taking. There's always something going on that's worth shooting, and there's no guarantee that it will be there when I come back later. Also, with sporting events there are about two or three-hundred pictures in the span of a few hours.

I don't have anything at home (summertime) that I feel the need to shoot that much.

I take more pictures in the spring than any other time. My two favorite subjects are waterfalls and flowers, which both seem to be in peak form in the spring. Summer and fall are about even in the photo opportunities they present. Winter is the only season where I have a noticeable decline in my photography.

I take pictures all year round now. When I lived on the East Coast and saw snow more than in San Diego I definitely took more pictures in the winter time though. As much as I hate snow something draws me to take pictures in it.

What slows me down in shooting is if I have a backlog of photos to process. I don't like adding to the queue of things to be done, especially if I'm going through a busy patch. I haven't taken a lot of pictures (other than for my fiftytwo project) since I went on holiday in mid-June. Last week, I finally finished working through those pictures and then I've got two more small sets to work through before I have the backlog out of the way.

I do find having a regular project useful. I think a 365-type one would be too much for me to keep up with but a weekly one suits me well. I will be finishing my self-portrait one in September and don't necessarily want to inflict another years worth of self-portraits on the world; I might try a 100-yards project, where I take weekly pictures within 100 yards of where I live, trying to see the area in a fresh way.

Not counting my threesixtyfive project I still shoot all year round. Clouds make the sky a lot more interesting. These shots just wouldn't work without the clouds:
