Default Here's a couple of the better ones.

I found a decent vantage point. I wanted the fireworks over the capital, but I was off a bit.

One of the better ones I was able to get at a smaller local event, just getting a feel for this sort of shot. Ended up shooting blind and hoping for the best. I'm looking forward to applying what I learned to one of the big fireworks displays in town next year!

Default Fireworks from Marietta, GA

This was my first year lugging a tripod along to the festivities, so much better results than previous years. Didn't manage to get an interesting foreground, unfortunately (somebody's Chevy Suburban and a couple of light poles!), so I ended up cropping down pretty far.

Sky Flower 1

A couple others on my flickr stream. Shot with a Canon S2IS, so it is possible with a non-DSLR as long as it gives you decent manual control.

Finally, I can add some firework shots After bucketloads (more like truckloads) of rain on Saturday, the Winter Carnival was postponed until Sunday. And despite a few spots of rain, the show went on, and the camera still works after getting a bit wet as it started to rain in the middle of the fireworks. lol So...

Sparks (by -Nicole-)

You can tell just how windy it was from the direction that all the fireworks are blowing.
