Whenyou shoot in portrait are you an upper

or a downer

I've always been an upper but I've seen a lot of pros shooting as downers so...

How do you do it? And why?

I am neither. I am a camera grip with secondary controls. :-)

Upper. I don't use a neck strap, instead I have a hand strap and my D80 hangs down quite naturally from it your "upper" position. My hands are on the small side and I almost never run out of battery juice, so I don't have an interest in the battery grip.

I'm a downer myself. By the way, it's good to see what you look like!

I'm an upper, but the fiance is a downer.

An upper. Seems more natural to me.

Both - I'm not consistent. I haven't figured out if my choice is random or if it is affected by other factors but I'm not sure it makes much difference to the end result either way.
