So far, the poll suggests that we are in the minority. And I really figure I should be using a lense hood. I just haven't gotten around to buying them. And it does make it slower for me to get stuff out of the camera bag and be ready to shoot, and my bag is too tight as it is, to have the hoods already on the lenses. So I'd have to put them on afterwards. Slows me down. Eventually, I'll get the wrong angle though, and I know I need the hood.

Hey! Thanks Digidave - I was JUST about to post, to ask about how people handle the lens hoods with the polarizer, so your timing was perfect!
Here, in SUNNY Southern California, I use the polarizer a lot, and have always found it a major pain, when I wanted to use the hood. I didn't realize that it was most effective at 90 degrees, so you answered 2 questions in one.

Reference CPL and lens hoods.
I know some folks that have placed a small hole in the lens hood to be used in adjustments. My method is I have a cheap rubber screw-in kens hood for each CPL. That way I have a big handle to adjust the CPL. |

That sounds like an interesting idea! Do you have any links to such a beast? I'm assuming it would screw into the CPL & as long as you turn it clockwise, it wouldn't unscrew itself. Have you had any problems getting one off of the CPL?
