So much to read and so little time.....

keep up the good work!

hey, I'm confused.

In the first post you say 600px for the longest side, but elsewhere in the forum it says 800px. Which is correct? (I wouldn't want to get slapped for 800px!)

No worries amberskies The rule changed after this post was originally made. The rule is 800px on the longest side. Thanks for asking!

I found this when I ....... I've found photography forums and groups before, but it turned out they were more interested in who had the most money, to buy the best and newest equipment, like who has the most megapixals, etc.
I thought this one might be different, it doesn't seem like it on first look.
But, the few post (and pictures) I tried were, last time I looked totally ignored..........
Maybe writing this will be seen as in INFRACTION? You know, not keeping the forum "just so" and neat and tidy, and such..........
Does anyone KNOW of a forum where people can speak up honestly and can share, participate and not be treat like they're invisible, if they don't have a lot of money and expensive cameras, lenses, etc?
I probably wouldn't fit in here anyway. I don't do good with having to remember rules (even ones I'm not always aware of) and playing the game and being "just so" (what someone else has decided I should/shouldn't be)
So, maybe in the long run it's good I wasn't welcomed (not in ONE thread, that I saw, even the INTRODUCTION ones, where others were greeted in a friendly way)..........
And, I've been on forums without all the rules and control, that seem to work very well, anyway...
So, thanks for letting people know up front what this one is like.
I am new to the forum (about 1 1/2 weeks now) and I must say that I have not found any of the rules to be limiting. I also have found that the more I put into it , the more I get out of it. And just for the record, I had only a Kodak easyshare when I joined. ( Get my 40D today thanks to alot of help with making a decision from here - yeah!) There are ALOT of photographers with point and shoots on here.
I know that even though I do not personally have a lot of experience, I try to find the threads that don't have many replies and respond if I can, BUT there are ALOT of people and threads on here. It is bound to happen that some get missed, but over all, everyone has been really nice. I didn't get greeted in the introduction forum, but it didnt really hurt my feelings.
Also, I have found one of two things to be true on photo critique. If the photo is pretty bad, alot of people wont comment at all ( the ones who don't want to hurt your feelings), and some are bruitally honest. I wouldnt take it to heart, there are alot of people with alot of knowledge on here that can really help if you will accept it and be involved.
That being said .... Welcome Starchild, hope to see some more from you soon.

Probably not !! This is the best site Ive ever been involved with and yes I got treated to the feather duster tap but hey I posted within 24 hours and thats the way it goes , being a big boy now i accepted it and moved on . The people here help with anything you need or want to know about and as Wulf said you make friends by being involved , critique comment and interact and others will do the same , I couldnt have learnt half of what I know now without these people and I imagine it will continue that way .And being able to afford equipment doesnt mean you can take a photo.

glad I read this part.
Ive uploaded files larger than that already I think.

I dont suppose we can consider this my infraction since I now realize the rule, and will comply with it.

sorry.

Seems the worst that will happen is you will be bitched about on another thread by the so called senior members , you know the ones, never made a mistake , were never new at anything , and think that we actually care about their petty gripes . Ha ha ha
