- you can also now style your profile - changing colors etc
- tags - you can now 'tag' a thread which can be useful. When you click the 'tag' (at the bottom of each thread) you are taken to a list of threads with that same tag. Not much to see at this point but it'll be useful the more we tag stuff
- social groups - not sure how we'll use these but you can start social groups from your profile page - you can see one I created for portrait photography HERE
- bookmarking - you can now bookmark/submit a thread to Digg, StumbleUpon, Delicious or Google at the bottom of each thread (there are some icons we need to fix on that section but it works)

PLEASE NOTE - we're learning about these features as admins too and reserve the right to modify them and even to switch some of them of if they are abused.

There are a few bugs we're aware of:

- urls/links are not underlined or styled any more. We'll get this fixed
- there are a few icons/buttons missing around the place - they now appear as text. Again, we're on it

There are other new features too - some that we'll need to play with as admins before we decide if we'll keep them all!
I did see 'social groups' and I see your's is the only one. I didn't see 'create' a group anywhere?

Default Tags in the thread titlesq

Hi all,

Anyone else find the tags in the thread titles distracting or is it just me? For instance...

Screenshot

Maybe it's just me, and I am in no way criticising the forum owners/designers/moderators or whoever else worked on the website at all, believe me - you all do a fantastic job. But to me the upgrade has made the front page more complicated and less user friendly - some thread titles just look like a scramble of random letters. Is there perhaps a way to move the tags somewhere else? Just a thought. Thank you, and again, no offence meant.

Yes, I found it distracting too and it's already been noted to the "powers that be".

if you'll look in your user control panel, click on groups on the left of your screen, and then click create new group.....as easy as that....

Yep, I think we all love the concept of the tags. We're still trying to work out how to make them more functional since they do make it hard to find the thread title, etc. I'm just going to move these posts into the thread already talking about new features / bugs / feedback / etc.

ok - we're getting there. I managed to fix the icon problems which fixed the tagging problems on category pages! We're getting there. The main other issue now is the underlined links which is a little tricky as VBulletin doesn't have a simple CSS stylesheet - but we'll get there!

The fix is brilliant Much better with the icons being back and working again. Especially for the tags!

spiffy isn't it! :-)

Added bonus - we now have the icons working in the 'bookmarks' section on individual threads. These are for services like Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon and Google and are a good way to keep track of your favorite threads for future reference but also a great way to share the best threads at DPS with others.

If you like a thread - submit it to one of these sites and you'll help others who don't yet know DPS to find us.

The icons thing makes everything look so much nicer - I no longer have any problems with any formatting on the site
