I'm with all the majority here and leave my lens on, i hope this isn't a dumb question and i'm sure there's a hundred people out there thinking it, is there any positives/negatives to putting the body cap back on as aposed to leaving the lens on???

I have just one lens for now. And even in the future, the camera will always have a lens on. Maybe if I would have more cameras and they would be very expensive and I would have one for every situation, then I would store them without a lens on. I am not a pro, I have just one body and one lens for now

Not a dumb question at all, I just don't know a good answer.

Definitely lens on. I carry my camera in my backpack back and forth to work everyday so I'm always ready to grab the camera if needed.

Always has a lens on, no idea where the body cap went!

I don't know if there's a scientific reason but I assume that having to go from body cap to lens will allow more opportunity for dust to get into the camera since you would always be in a state of putting a lens on. I don't change my lens unless there something specific I'm doing requiring something other than the 50 mm to be on.

I always store my camera with the lens on. There are 2 reasons for this: (1) I want to protect the sensor from dust, and (2) I want the camera to be ready to shoot at all times.

Smile Camera stored with lens on

Lens on, for a few reasons.

I worry more about contamination from plastic bits or shavings off the body cap from the wear and tear of screwing it in than from a metal lens mount.

Also, I like to keep the camera with my default walk-around zoom lens (17-55) attached and ready to use fairly quickly.

That also seems to be the only way to reasonably get all the gear stored in my current bag...
