How do you take 1000 photos in one day?!

yea, with my personal photos now that i am developing more skill i find i take less than i used to because i only want good picts or only take picts when the taking is good. but most of my pictures are generated from work 8-5 job. personal picts are taken on my XTI but work stuff is done on an advanced p&s camera. i guess since i have been doing this job for almost 5 years at 30k a year im probably up to 150,000 picts for work. kinda silly number almost.

As for a total amount I really cant say... probably close to 100k

I bought my camera at the beginning of December 2007...
My count is about 9,900
I say about that... because when shooting in jpg and RAW... my camera numbers both the same number, just different extensions... so some numbers are used twice...

Full day of shooting, continuous drive. I average 400-600 frames for a 2-hour sports shoot.

Amazing! jdepould helped answer how he does the same. Glad to hear it's continuous drive (never knew there was such a thing) and not wear and tear on your finger, jdepould!

Wow, I'm on the low end! I've had my D80 for a month and a half now, and I've taken 649 pics. I shoot nearly every day, but usually very few at a time. At most I'll take two pics of the same subject, and that's just if I can't decide which way to frame it.

when i first got my dslr i took too many useless photos, but i've learned to tone it down...when i get back to the computer it takes ages for the thumbnails to load. now before i click more thought goes into the picture than when i first started.

I take lots and lots, that is the beauty of digital - no film to spend money on and no money spent on processing. In the olden days I would be much more selective and only take pictures of special occasions. Now I shout like crazy. The other day I went to my son's tennis match an took lots of shots, probably about 200, of that I got maybe 15 real keeper action shots. I found that for that type shooting my D80 was not quite fast enough, so I went out an bought a D300
