    Default Hit by reality

We finally succumbed and got an HD TV earlier this year, and we've just changed our TV subscription to use HD this week.. And it's really not so good.

What I've noticed is that now the actors and actresses all look really old.. I mean, I'm wtching the same reruns, and now, because the quality is that much better, I can now see all their lines and wrinkles that couldn't be seen on the SD version.. It's a bit like the difference between a photo that's had the gaussian blur treatment versus one without.

So now I'm getting a healthy dose of reality, and all my favourite actors and actressses have aged 5 years overnight.. I miss my old SD TV..
A photo needs to start and finish in your imagination, if it passes through your camera in between, that's cool, if it doesn't, that's cool also.

Lol, that's one of the biggest things people noticed back when HDTV became so popular. Especially the actors/actresses because now they have to sit around for more makeup.

Perhaps the same could be said for your photos, too. I'd be happy to trade you a used camera that'll "hide" all those nasty details. I'm not a very good photographer, so I think I could make do with your high-res gear.

    No?

    I had to try, didn't I? ;-)

I think he means that the actors and actresses look 5 years older when watched on his new HDTV with HD subscription vs without the HD subscription. So (before the HD subscription to after the HD subscription) those actors and actresses have appeared to age, quite literally, overnight.

I'm sure you are correct, it was an epic fail on my part to rib about his own aging...

I don't know what it's like over there, but here they compress the shit out of the HD broadcasts to the point where often it looks no different. Decent bluray though... that's sweet. Assuming you have a bluray player, get hold of Tron Legacy

Try putting a mosquito net over the screen Jon - that'll give back your gaussian blur
