Default kids are so silly HA HA

I got a call from my daughter's school today. She fell off the swing and banged her head pretty hard and had a goose egg. The nurse wanted her to call me to come get her and to get checked out. While I was on the phone with my daughter I asked her if she had brain damage and she said she thought she was okay. I then gave her my brain damage test
What's your name?
Where do you live?
What is your phone number?

She answered all of those correctly with a slight giggle. I then asked her:
How old am I?

There was a very brief pause on the phone. She then whispered as quietly as she could, "Do you want me to lie or tell the truth?"

"Well this is a brain damage test. I am trying to tell if you have brain damage."
She then takes a deep breath and says in a louder then normal tone, "My mom is 29 years old."

I declared her brain damage free
I still took her to the doc to be sure she was ok and she has a slight concussion but I just need to keep an eye on her for a few more hours.

Lol, kids and concussions are about as common a mix as it gets. I'm surprised I got through those years without my head turning to mush lol.

I love how she asked if you wanted her to lie or not lol, that's funny

Haha! That's awesome. Since my daughter could talk, I've had her trained to answer the question "How old is your mommy" by saying "Twenty-one." Mind you, I'm actually 41.

As she's grown older and has begun to understand math, she asked me on one of my husband's birthdays "Why does daddy get older every year and you stay only 21?"

My standard answer for any mommy miracle questions is simply, "Because mommies are magic."

Let's see how much longer she buys it.

Glad to hear your daughter is okay. Those big ole eggs always look so much worse than they really are! And don't forget that mommies' kisses are also magical.

Susan ~ I did that with all 3 of my kids HA HA

As she gets older and starts adding it up ..do what I did as its good for at least a couple of years before they catch on!!

"Oh no sweety, you misunderstood. I said I was going to be 21, not that I AM 21."
She will scratch her head a moment and look confused but will come around and realize she misunderstood you

Several years ago my son announced to his teacher that it was my birthday that day & that I was 32. I laughed at the expression of one of the other mothers in the room at the time, we'd gone to primary school together(a year behind me) and she was a few years past 32! Love my boy

May your lens cap fall off into a port-a-potty.

Because if a woman is 35, but tells you she's 27 (yes, I know not exactly half.. bleh), and you believe her (as men are prone to do) and you want to be with a woman half her "age" that doesn't put you in a good light, does it?
