Default Daylight bulb temperature!

Hi

I have a cheap lighting kit. The light is a Neewer c-250 and the bulb inside is a modelling bulb - G4 i believe, 22V75W @ 5400k.

It all works fine but when i'm taking family portraits it looks a little yellow. I believe i need a more 'Daylight' bulb!

Would this be correct? What sort of temperature would work best? Where is a good place to buy online? (UK)

Many thanks

Matt

Or you need to adjust your white balance.

Yes i agree that would do it but would it not give better results to have the appropriate bulb in?

Not necessarily, As long as your light sources are not disparate the correct WB will compensate for the color correction.

Also, be aware that the less expensive kit lights will have bulbs that change temperature as they age. And may be prone to change with varying voltage from the mains.

Default A little help please...

Hey, you're the first person I've found that also owns these lights. Any chance you could let me know how you got the flash function to work? I keep asking the company for more help and they send me the PDF to the sheet of paper they call a manual. It's not clear and we've not been able to sus it out!

Thank you in advance!

I believe "daylight" is 5600k..... oh no, looks like its 5778k technically speaking. But I do believe as a guide you should be looking at 5500-5600k

Hi

I have never had a problem getting flash to work. Just make sure you have the correct cable from the receiver to the flash!
You have a manual. Any chance you can forward it to me?
If you don't mind then let me know and I'll let you know my email!

If you have the right cable then maybe your item is faulty! Hard to test if that's the case I know! If I can be of any more help then let me know!

Cheers
