Default Ambitions...

Ok, so what ambitions do you have in life, and especially in photography? What do you aspire to? What's on your Bucket list?

Personally I'd like to get printed in Nat Geo.. It would say to me that my photography has got as good as the photogs I look at and respect.. I doubt I'll ever get there, but it's something to aim for.

Other than that, I've a bit of a bucket list of places I'd like to go, and things I'd like to do there.. I'd like to visit one of the Poles.. And I'd like to see Penguins or Polar bears in the wild. I'd like to go to a reserve in India and see a wild Tiger. I want to ride a motorbike from the top of North Island to the bottom of South Island in NZ. I want to cross the international Date line in both directions. I want to see the Easter Island heads and the tortoises on the Galapogus Islands. I want to see the Borneo Rainforests before they're gone. I want to see some of the montain temples in Northern China, I want to see Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda... And I'd love to work as a photographer for a "Ecotourism" travel magazine (As opposed to the ones that just show photos of semiclad people on Beaches.)

Any ideas how I can achieve this little lot in the next 20 years would be very well received.

What's on your list?

I want to do more portraits, but I have to overcome this severe shyness I have going on.
Street.
Urbex is on my list as well.
As far as travels go. Japan for me, and Italy for my girlfriend.
Hell, anywhere out of my town is like another country. Haha!

Take one f*****g great pic and build on that.
And I'd settle for the semiclad people.

Luke, you ain't shy, you just think you are.. Look how you are on here and Facebook.. That's not a shy person.

What I mean is the only way to get over shyness is to go cold turkey. You're the one who is convincing yourself you're shy, so you're the only one preventing yourself from getting over it.. Go out. Go on. Open the door and go outside. It's only you keeping yourself trapped in. It's nice out there, most people are quite nice.

I want to never work on a salary. That way I'll know my photography is good enough that it can support me, and also because I really, REALLY, hate working for people. Plus I want to travel, A LOT. I have a list of about 150 places to visit. 20 and I'll be a happy man

I'd like to go to the same places you have on your list, plus Petra. I'm starting to save for an Alaska trip.

Instead of having someone tell me they like my photo, I'd like to have someone offer me $$$ to buy a print!

Be careful when you wish to see a tiger...

That was scary Krusty!

Jon, your ambitions will be a fit for me except I'll have the near naked women bit. Plenty to choose from here though.

My short-term ambition is to have a photojournalism book published on my mother's indigenous heritage that I want to put together in the next 2 years....

It's a very personal ambition and project of mine I hope I get to do whilst my grandmother is still alive.....
