Your motorcycle horror stories are bumming me out. My husband just got his first bike this past summer so I'm going to change the subject and post this pretty picture of a deer that would not leave us alone last September - I took this with my 35mm lens - we had to chase it away about 6 times over the course of a few hours because it kept coming back into our campsite looking for food.

Okay...funny story now....
My husband was fixing the down-pipe on the garage and my friend and I went out to check on his progress...

My friend asked him if he noticed anything wrong with the picture...which is when he noticed...

an hour later it was "fixed" properly :<)

It was only a "momentary lapse of reason"

We did more than that! Would you believe we actually built this house together? This was the first time for THIS type of thing!
(house still standing strong 14 years and many storms later )

Yeah, and living in that area is a serious pain in the ass if your not a Christian. In the county we live in there are over 100 churches in the 176 square miles of the entire county.

Hamblen County, Tennessee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Morristown and Hamblen County TN Church Guide <--- a listing of just the churches in Morristown. That doesnt include the surrounding areas that are within the county. You'll notice that most are Southern Baptist, and in this area, most of them are HUGE hypocrites.

This is an area where the NO SOLICITING sign is very much needed, and you keep your mouth shut about being Non-Christian unless you want to be harassed like hell. Being that it is in the mountains too though, and nature is very easily accessible, there is a large population of Pagan/Wiccan etc in the area, but you won't know they're there unless your one of them.

"To the pure, all things are impure." - Samuel Clemens

Funny how that works. In other news, I spotted a pair of juvenile bald eagles in a place where ospreys are often mistaken for bald eagles. It's important because many people are anxiously looking to see if they (re)establish this area for nesting, but how to prove the sighting? Well, by golly, I'm a big time photographer now, and can prove it with one arm tied behind my back! See: Dreary Day Surprises (scroll down a bit).

This has created a buzz among birders and other nature lovers in my little corner of the country, and I am absolutely tickled pink to be able to show what I saw so clearly. No, it ain't spectacular photography, just a hyper long range shot taken on an ugly day and cropped and sharpened mercilessly ..... but it still documents eagles beyond any doubt.

I'm not sure if this fits the spirit of this thread exactly, but it's still something I wanted to crow about.

How about an SUV with a football goal post attached to it?
