Wow, lots of great ideas so far. I like the Williamsburg suggestion. I remember growing up and having 'Colonial Williamsburg' commercials appearing on TV.
After doing some more digging, I think I might just make it a meandering trip to Williamsburg stopping at various civil war battle sites on the way down, then catching the missed ones on the way back. I do want to visit through New England but I'm thinking that might be more into the fall so I can combine it with a stop in Boston (Foxborough to be specific) to catch the Patriots play at least once. I think the fall colours through Vermont would make for a good trip at that time. As for the time I have, I wish it was a month or more, but alas I suspect I may be looking at just a week to ten days. |

One place that I highly recommend that you stop by and see is the city of Boston. Not only does is have beautiful scenery, but it has a wide variety of places to take pictures including the commons, the Warf, Faneuil Hall, and the North End for great dining! There are so many activities in Boston that you will enjoy your time here while taking beautiful pictures for your road-trip.
