Post Interested in Fashion?

I'm really interested in fashion, as well as photography, and I want to put together a look book so that I can put it in to some fashion places, but I have two problems - the first is, I don't have a model, and second is, I don't know exactly where to send my pictures when they're done? I'm looking to get into the advertising side of a popular clothing store like Sportsgirl or Portmans?
Thanks in advance for any help

I think you'll find that if you want to do photos for big chains like sportsgirl or Portmans, you'd first need to be hired by their advertising agency. That would be not simple feat no matter how good you are/will be. I may be wrong here, but it seems to me you wish to run before you can crawl - no?

Practice, practice then more practice. Then practice and practice then more practice. If you are interested in a certain field, then get your hands on good books and tutorials for those. First you need to learn how to use your camera so it becomes second nature. You need to understand all aspects of exposure and lighting. You'll need to understand and become adept at off camera flash and how to utilise natural lighting. Then off course, you'll have to learn all about processing. Don't be put off if photography is your dream, but it takes years of practise and experience and learning how to market yourself. As I believe you have gathered: being a successful photographer is much more than having a camera.

All that, and getting a DSLR to work with. No one will take you seriously at your age of 16 with no proper photography gears and experience, much more try to crack it into the fashion photography business which is well saturated and very difficult to work with.

I love your enthusiasm and desire for fashion and modelling photography, however, it's not enough to get your foot into the industry. You need skills and gears for what you want to do.

I think you should think about going to uni and taking photography classes, etc, as this would be a lot more beneficial and what you need to get into the business.
