Default Is it just me?

That when I notice that someone has spammed a thread, other than the obvious bumped 4 year old threads, that almost every spam post has almost the same meter? They all read in the same way, even if it's broken English. Is there some reason for this? Do the spammers try to cram key words in to the posts to get the crawlers to pick them up?
Some try to be sneaky and imbed the links in their posts with a one word reply, or copy and paste a previous reply, but they almost always still read the same.
Has anyone else seen this type of pattern, or is it just me?
I'm a technodumbass when it comes to this stuff, but I was just wondering.

i think the big hot spot for spammers and cyber crooks is all in the same area in the "stans" area in Europe. Maybe that has some influence...

Spambots are just dumb machines. They are bought as an off the shelf product by the person who is trying to sell the product advertised. They're asked for a link to whatever it is the person creating the Spam is trying to sell in the Spambot master interface, and then the Spambot picks the way the text is created, and away it goes. Since it's only got limited ways in which to create the content for several million forums, usually hunting for threads that contain keywords, such as "joke" or something, and then grabbing text from previous entries into the thread and twisting it a little, adding some text that may or may not be relevant, and posting it back.

The Bots are very sphostocated, but since it's the same engine generating the content, it's really no surprise that the posts display similarities.. Same way as your posts on one thread will display similarities to posts on another. Spambots have personalities, which is their weakness, and pretty soon, forum managers will be able to buy anti-spam software in a very similar vein to the antispam software available for email systems..

It won't work though.. Plenty of money being made in Spamming people, so it'll always be cat and mouse.
