Default Business Cards - Who has a photo on theirs?

I've been trying to get business cards done forever. But when I use the template and create them in CMYK, the thumbnail looks really neon, and the colors are off.

There aren't any places that print in RGB, but I know people get photos printed on their business cards all the time. So I'm guessing, what comes out is going to be drastically different than what I see in the thumbnail on my screen?

I'm a noob at this.

Have you tried Vistaprint? I'm not sure if they print in RGB, but they recognize Photoshop apparently.

Yeah I have, Vistaprint is the crappiest crap I've ever seen, lol. After getting my last order from them I demanded a refund and recycled them all. You get what you pay for I guess.

Nowhere prints in RGB for business cards, is my understanding.

The place I am most likely going with let's you upload JPEGs or PSDs as well, I was just wondering how they typically turn out once converted to RGB

This. You can upload as many as you have patience for, arrange the fit and crop as you want, and great quality and speed. Worth a few bucks.

Moo is monster expensive though, isn't it? I remember looking into them awhile back, but I guess I should check it out again.

I've decided I'm going with JukeBoxPrint because a) I can go pick up the cards when they're done instead of paying for shipping b) $15 for 1000 sale is on right now! c) I've got business cards done for my Reptile hobby and they turned out better than any I've ever seen.

Now I'm just hoping the colors don't come out looking crazy!

+1 for Moo. I used them with the option to get different images across all the cards. Very cool.

You *cant* print in RGB. It's not physically possible. Some software does a better job at turning RGB or sRGB into a CMYK file.

If you really want to put photos onto a CMYK business card, you'll have to re-edit the shot from RAW in CMYK

Hmm.. I'm sure someone on this thread said "You get what you pay for"

Oh yeah... So they did.

I use Vista print.. Their bottom of the range stuff is nothing better than glorified cardboard, But after you shy away from their bottom of the range stuff the quality improves no end. I have a photo printed front and back. Prepaed both, plus the pording, in photoshop, then just uploaded as a template. The colours seem true to what I imagined they would be, but then I gave them a PSD file using sRGB. The card stock is ok.. Not brilliant, but not crappy either.. Might investigate Moo after this lot runs out, but for the time being I'm satisfied.. Mind you, Vistaprint EU might be a different quality to Vistaprint Canada.

Moo is nice, but I always use Goodprint as they often have 50% offers on. I have one image on the back of my cards covering the whole lot. Uploaded a JPG and they always turn out fine

I'm using a much nicer photo now but..
