+1 to external HDDs. Also, if you're using a desktop, internal HDD's are very cheap.

thats perfect for personal use but I shot a wedding and as I am yet to be established they get the images on a disc but I cant give them numerous discs........there must be a way around this without reducing file size ??????? anyone have any ideas? I want to keep the files large as they have been given the option to enlarge as large as they like.....some of the edited files are 24MB - quite frustrating -
thankyou David

Ya multiple hard drives. Make sure you have sort of automated backup software to duplicate the library. Look into crashplan its free software that will let you do local, computer to computer, and then to friend backups. At one time I have 3 copies of my library synced.

Why must there be a way? A DVD is a specific size.

Depending on file format, you might be able to compress the files without significant loss of quality, but you're not going to get a larger DVD.

Alternatively, you could burn to Blue Ray or give your customer an external hard disk.

Oh so your talking about presenting to clients? Ya DVD or custom USB sticks or online file distribution.

You could use a USB key, though they arent as secure or stable as I'd like. That said, a DVD has tons of space: a 21mp image isnt THAT big, MB wise. I've never had an issue with delivering images to a client.

How many images are you giving clients?
