Default You gotta laugh..

This guy is trying to sell a top of the range pro camera.. And advertises it using blurry, badly exposed, out of focus shots like this.

You gotta wonder..

Hey, he's selling his good camera; there's no way any other camera can take a good picture. It's the gear, after all, not the photographer.

Don't be too hard on the seller, the photo of the box is mostly in focus

To be fair, the DSLR is in front of the camera, not the one taking the photo. Maybe he didn't have any but a phone camera.

Even my phone camera can take better photos than that..

My point being that if you're trying to sell a top of the range camera like this one, then you SHOULD be at a skill level where you are able to take a half decent picture with almost any photographic object.

Since the photos are poorly composed, out of focus and badly exposed, one has to draw certain conclusions:

Either

The person selling it is an "All the gear, no idea" type who really doesn't have much of a clue, just a wallet deep enough for them not to care.

or

The person selling it isn't the owner.
....
Because the photographers I've met who own such items are usually so OCD that they'd be embarrassed to post such pictures, in fact posting a picture that was even 1mm out of focus, had a shadow in the wrong place, was a tad too dark, or any one of a plethera of other things would cause them to go into melt down.

I put a couple of camera bags for sale online recently & I must admit I was conscious of making sure the photos were sharp, in focus, good lighting etc. And they were only bags!

See what I mean? I've just bought myself a light tent so I can take good photos for fleabay.. Mind you, having said that, my items sell for a noticable amount more since I became aware of the standard of my advertising photos.

Perhaps he's discovered he's really not a very good photographer. I don't think it's unheard of for people to drop all sorts of money on pro-grade equipment without clue 1 about how to use any of it. It's unfortunate, but not unheard of. Hopefully someone gets a good deal on this and puts it to use.

That thought crossed my mind, but I'd never suggest it ... in public.

Oh snap!

Out of interest, what does every one think of ebay photos? See I always take a real life shot in my house (proper exposure etc) rather than a "product" shot. Simply because when I'm looking to buy, I trust photos that are obviously the item much more than a photo that looks like it's taken from a magazine review or manufacturer site and could potentially not be THE item for sale
