Do you have to run your pictures through something like photobucket, to be able to post them on here? or can you just download them from your computer? New here so not sure how to do it!! any help would be appreciated!!

It's much easier to post from a site like Photobucket or Flickr. I highly recommend Flickr personally. You can find instructions for a whole bunch of photo sites here: Digital Photography School - Photography Forums - FAQ: vBulletin FAQ

Depends on your internet connection, what your upload speed is. You can have a really fast broadband connection with pretty slow upload times depending on your ISP. It also depends on the size of the images your trying to upload. Most of my jpeg's end up being somewhere between 4-10mb, and they finish uploading within about 5-15seconds per image, while uploading about 10 images out of the queue at a time. Which is a decent speed for a broadband connection. But all in all, unless Photobuckets servers are bogged down tonight "haven't tried uploading anything, so I don't know", then it'll pretty much fall on your own connection speed. That being said, I've used photobucket for over a year now as a Pro account, I'd personally go with Flickr, that's where I'll be moving shortly. I don't believe it'll solve your upload speed problem any, but there are some nicer things about it.
