Default Virginia Beach to San Diego

I'm stationed in Norfolk, Va and there is a chance that I might be going to San Diego in the near future. Photography for me is a big passion and a huge hobby, my wife is trying to break out and turn this into a profession. So what's the photography scene like in SD?

There are photo ops all over SD county. The ocean is close by, but also the mountains, as well as Palm Desert. There's also the SD Zoo & the SD Safari Park aka the Wild Animal Park if you like to photograph wild animals. SD is one of our fave places to visit & photograph.

That's awesome. I don't mind what we shoot to be honest, that's be beauty of being a amateur and the wife enjoys all forms of it from the professional aspect of it. Virginia Beach has a beach too obviously but there's something of the artistic community and chances that's lacking in our area. Being originally from NJ we could go to NYC, Philly, or just around to NJ to find whatever we needed.

You guys will LOVE So-Cal. Originally a Texan, lived in NYC and now SoCal is home to me and I just can't get enough. Been here almost a year and still in honeymoon phase! HA!

San Diego was good enough for Ansel Adams to shoot.

and Annie Liebovitz paid for road access down to Black's a few years ago.

And that's just one beach (Scripps and Blacks are adjacent).

Don't forget, it's not just San Diego that's within reach. L.A. is two hours north on the freeway, and Mexico is just across the border.

Very good points. And hopefully one day (crosses fingers) the wife can be the new age Adams. I'm quite the big dreamer. Regardless what are like going prices for shoots and weddings and etc. I feel weird asking this, but I would like to know. If anyone replies to this feel free to send me a private message so that way we aren't putting anyone's business up here like that. of course, unless, you want too.
