Just downloaded the trial of Lightroom3. This has to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. I really love the way it works. Color editing and sharpening seems to be much easier than in Elements.

I've used Photoshop since the mid-90s, so for a long time I couldn't figure out why I would need Lightroom. Then during the 2010 Christmas season Amazon had a really good sale price, so I figured I'd take the risk. Now, the moment LR4 goes live I'm upgrading. I hardly ever hit PS any more for my personal photography.

keep in mind im comparing it to elements.. which is no where near what the full version is.. but still. LR is awesome. Im now wondering what i would really need the full version of ps for lol.

Unless you are doing serious pixel manipulation, LR will do 99% of what you need. I touch PS once a month, maybe.

It would be worth you getting LR3 at 50% less at the moment.

Gotta say, I use LR every day. I use PS once or twice a month when I find a photo to add to my portfolio and want to "perfect" it. If I were a pro photographer, I'd probably use PS a lot more, but I've just downloaded LR 4 beta and it looks very very promising.. I think I will be upgrading when it comes out.

If I didn't have PS for work, I wouldn't use it at all, it's far too expensive for what I use it for.
