Default Bu..Bu..But...But Whyyyyy

I took my wee lil Nikon D40 into the shop for some warranty work tonight. It could be up to 3 months before I either get my camera back or ... if they can't fix the problem in that time, I get a brand new replacement. (By the way, 3 year in store warranty = score one for Llisa, first time that's ever paid off for me)

Naturally I'm kinda sorta hoping to be cameraless for 3 months so I can get a brand new camera.

5 minutes before we get to the shop my (ridiculously awesome) husband feels he should mention that for my birthday (which is pretty soon) he has purchased a Nikon 55-200mm VR lens for me. Just in the off chance that any new camera I get won't be compatible (he had a minor freakout)

Anyway, I will have a beautiful new lens to sit on the shelf and mercilessly taunt and frustrate me until my camera comes back. Yeah yeah,I know first world problems for me Waaah waah. I feel like this may be the female equivalent to blue balls.

Am I Bragging? Horny? Complaining? I don't know. Discuss.

The AF-S lens should work on any replacement body you would get for your D40, so there's no worries about being able to use it when you get a camera back.

Grab a cell phone, digital P&S, or maybe even dust off an old film P&S and take some shots. It'll be kind of like photographic masturbation; not as good as the real thing, but enough to take the pressure off.

Hi there, this is Peaches' social filter. She's currently locked in a closet, wearing a straight-jacket, and being refused to come out because she is not responsible enough to post maturely on this subject. For what it's worth, it sounds like you have a wonderful, loving, supportive husband you should cherish him *heard in the background "DOES HE HAVE SIBLINGS?!?!?! I didn't know women could get blue balls..masturbation masturbation masturbation" Sorry about that. She's rather unruly. Anyway, you should cherish your husband and when your camera gets back, perhaps offer to take some pleasing portraits of you and him together as a thank you.

Cheers and best of luck,
Peaches' filter.
