Default New To Photography

My name is Danny Woods. I live in Atlanta, Ga with my wife (Linda) and daughter (Mikayla). I been interested in photography for years and have been taking photos for years. Just recently I decided to take a step further into this world of creativity. I'm sorta intimidated by posting photos as mine seem elementary compared to some i've seen by others. I'm sure i'll learn alot from the other participants and look forward to meeting other photographers and learning as much as I can.

Thanks

Danny, welcome to DPS. Always good to see people taking a step further into photography. If you're not ready to have your photos critiqued, feel free to share in the Share Your Shots section. You won't receive feedback on the actual photos themselves as it's not for critique, but it is a good way to start putting yourself out there in the community.

Hope to see you around on here

Welcome to DPS.
Go to the critique section look at other peoples pictures, do a mental critique then look at the critiques others have written and see how your mental critique compares. You will be surprised at how much you will learn this way.

Danny, welcome. Don't be afraid. Jump in with both feet to the Critique Section; it really is the best place to learn. Everyone who gives critique is generally very cool. If you can handle "this shot doesn't work for me", you'll be fine.

Welcome to DPS Danny. It is always a good thing to increase one's knowledge on subjects one has a passion for. This site is a great learning tool. Read other's posts and responses, do mental critiques of other's photos (as mentioned earlier), go through the tutorials and practice what your just read about. When you are ready, just post a pic in the appropriate critique section per the posting rules. Most folks here are cool, you will never hear "you suck, sell your camera and get a box of cayons!" But you must be open to the suggestions and teaching points without becoming defensive. The more open you are to instruction, the more you get out of it.

Good luck and happy shooting.

Always ok for DPS users to critique and edit my photos for instructional purposes.

Hi Danny, welcome to DPS.
You suck, get rid of your camera and buy some crayons!

There.. it's been said, now you have nowhere but up to go so there's nothing stopping you from posting (in the critique section, SYS will only get you a pat on the back).

Really, if you have thick skin and an open mind, you'll definitely learn something here. We all want each other to get the most out of this little thing we call photography.

See ya around.

BigFuzzy always knows how to make people feel welcome lol. Seriously though, the Critique section was probably my best source of learning when I first started out. It'll definitely get you started in the right direction
