Used to own some Hanimex stuff in the 1960s, mostly slide projectors & tripods etc.
They were generally regarded as being at the lower end of the market - not cheap and nasty, at least during the 1960's and very early 70's . The lenses were probably rebadged Japanese 3rd party brands. I didn't own any Hanimex lenses lenses as most my lenses were Pentax Takumars. (screw mount).

Yep, Hanimex was an Aussie import/export business and rebadged cheap Japanese lenses and such. The lenses weren't generally favoured by photographers, apparently.
I should say, though, that the actual build quality on the one I have seems very solid - a brute of a lens and very heavy. It must be around 35 years old now so little wonder if nobody has any experience of it/them.
