Default HDR done right - Joel Yonzon's Photos

I'm not a fan of HDR, however, the images from this photographer's portfolio are outstanding. I have been following him for a while and I can't help but be blown away with how well he uses HDR with his images, including people. He uses it to the point where it doesn't feel out of this planet, but only enough to bring out the colours and contrasts with the scenes. I love them to the point that I'm even contemplating on trying HDR out with landscapes.

Check out his other photos. Quite inspiring, I think!

Cheers,

Very nice photos. I've tried a bit of HDR and I like you prefer the more realistic style of HDR. I suggest you give it a try before you completely rule it out of your photography regimen. It's quite fun and makes you understand exposure in a different way.

Ah, I haven't written off HDR even though I cringe 95% of the time when I see HDR processed images I actually don't even mind the more surreal effect when this is used that I've seen on 500px, but they have to be done so well with the very clear intention of surrealism. Particularly in forest scenes.

I may try it when I go to Tasmania in a couple of weeks!
