Hey forum,
I'm new here and I am a novice to the forum world so please don't hurt me . I'm actually looking for some help regarding photo recovery. Is there anybody willing to help me out or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.-Razrlinkz |

Welcome to DPS Razrlinkz
Are we talking photo recovery on a computer, or SD card, or just in general?

I have a friend who uses "Art Plus Digital Photo Recovery". I BELIEVE it's free, I haven't used it myself. The ease of recovery is going to have a lot to do with the circumstances behind how they went missing too. Sometimes you won't be able to recover a full photo, and you may not get the same quality photo that you had to begin with. When things are deleted, they tend to leave a "ghost" behind that we can't see, but the data is there. The level of recovery all depends on just how much data is left behind.
Hopefully that software is what you're needing. As I said, I haven't used it, but I know someone who has. Good luck with it. Maybe somebody else will have a little more info for you.

Hmm, I will check the "Art Plus Digital Photo Recovery" program. Thanks for the info about it anyways. I've taken a look around on the forum and noticed someone else recommending PhotoRec. I will try giving your recommendation a go first and see where I get with that. I'm going to try running it now and will post back later on in the day as an update. Thanks again.

I know its been a while but I got taken up by school and work. As an update I have tried the recommended program (Art Plus) but only to find it was one those "yeah we can recover but you have to buy our product to even preview the picture(s)" things. I'm not trying to complain about the program just trying to explain what I have tried.
I also went and tried PhotoRec but that recovered a lot of pictures(over 40000pics, which is way more then I know I have). The pictures came out really tiny(thumbnail sized) and would turn blurry if you tried zooming in. This is pretty frustrating... not sure what to do. Any advice? |

Well unfortunately a lot of pictures are probably going to be like that. It's doubtful you'll find one that's anywhere near the quality it originally was. You have to keep in mind that these are just ghosts of what was there. I would expect more than just thumbnail size images though. There's a chance you'll find a lot that are only recoverable to that degree, but you should find atleast some that are a larger size.
Maybe somebody else can recommend some better photo recovery software. But just keep in mind that there's a good chance you're not going to get things back quite the way you want them.

Well while digging through I did find a few that were mid sized but yeah when zooming just a bit made them blurry. Hmm, well I don't want to give up on the drive or on this project so is there something else that you could recommend or perhaps if you know someone else that would like to join in on this adventure? And like you said before it will also depend on the amount of data that was left behind so I'm just being hopeful
. Thanks Soldier for helping me out even though I suck at the responding time.
