I was reading the orb photography post and I was wondering how many people put stock into ghost photography, not orbs?
I do not put much stock in orb photography. It can't be verified and most the time its something environmental. But do you think ghost can be captured on film? It might seem like a silly topic but ghost photography is a very big part of paranormal research and I was curious what you guys thought about ghost photos. I have studied and looked into ghost photography. Not as an obsession but more like for fun and interest. There are a few really good photographs of "something" and they can't be explained away as easily as orbs. I won't link the actual photos here as I didn't take them and don't want to get into trouble. So here is my list of interesting ghost photos. I would love to see if any of you can explain them in a photography bad exposure sense. I have no idea if these are legit ghost or if they can be explained away photographically. I just find them interesting and the people who took them credible. 1. google "boothill ghost photo" its a black and white photo of a guy dressed in a period western style. His buddy was taking the photo and they wanted it to look western like. In the far background is a person but way too small to be a real live person. He is very easily seen and has a hat. If you look at the close up/blow up of the photo there is a huge amount of detail in this "body". I have no idea how that can be a photo glitch and it has been tested over and over again for any hoaxing. 2. Goggle the " Freddy Jackson photo". This is a shot of a military squadron. In the photo you can clearly see Freddy, who was a member of the squadron but was killed. This photo is amazing as its a huge group shot and the face is so clear and easy to make out. No shadow people here.. 3. The "Jane Churm" photo taken during a fire in Wem Town Hall in Shropshire, England. This one isn't as well known and may take a few searches to find but it is pretty amazing. You can read the story behind it but I would rather you see the photo first as many times we are influenced by the story. Make sure to look for the photo of the girl standing on a balcony with a railing in front of her. There seems to be a few *fake* photos of this girl in recent years. The one I am talking about is in black and white and of a girl in a white nightgown with a railing in front of her. The full uncropped photo will show a building fire in the background. There are several *photos* of this girl on the internet so make sure to look for that particular one as its extremely realistic and taken by a very credible photographer who was covering the building fire story. Anyone else have any interesting ghost photos they have seen or taken themselves? I have never gotten a ghost on any of my pictures. I have seen where many of the photos can and have been debunked as well, including the famous Amittville horror staircase ghost photos.

Hey I didn't say I believed in ghost. I have never met one
![]() I just was wondering what photography folks think of those particular famed ghost photos. If a photo is all over the internet and not copyrighted, can I post it here even though its not my work? I am just not sure how that works! Let me see if I can find some links! Boothill ghost photo : Ghosts of Tombstone - Boothill Graveyard Ghosts - www.TombstoneArizona.com Tell me what you think. Real or faked or bad exposure? " Freddy Jackson photo" Historic Ghost Photograph: Freddy Jackson on The Haunted Internet Bad exposure? Maybe but the *ghost* isn't wearing a hat like all the rest. The "Jane Churm" photo This is a really good debunking article about this photo. I have to agree with them as it being a fake and how it was done: Wem ‘Ghost Girl’ Photograph Finally Solved? | Ghost Theory Anyway ~ I was trying to get more of a critique of those photos.

If it is not yours, or you don't have permission to post it or it is out of copyright (basically long after the photographer died), then it is a copyright violation..
The fact it is all over the internet doesn't mean a thing.

I have asked these types of questions before. Even in the days of B&W film and limited development processes there have been faked photos. The one of fairies is one that has never been proven a fake but no one can say for sure if it is real. The boot hill photo although looks odd you can't tell me it or any ghost photo is real. Just on this site there are many photographers taking thousands of images in hundreds of locations and no ghosts. I have taken shots in cemetery's, old buildings, and other places where people have died or laid to rest and no ghosts.
Is it possible maybe are they fake most likely.

I always thought orbs were moths flying about or specks of dust. Its those stupid tv programmes like Most Haunted that do it the most. I'd take my hat off to anyone who takes a photo of a REAL ghost. I'd love to see one.
