Default Double/Multiple Exposure

I've noticed that my Fuji S2 Pro has a multiple exposure setting next to the mode wheel.
My question is; - Does this have any creative benefits over what can be achieved in Photoshop post processing or is it more or less superfluous? - I can't think of any purpose for it other than the ability to make straight-from-camera ghosts, etc.

I think that could be done (not entirely sure, but I assume so) but the camera already has an auto-bracketing feature anyway.

My camera has a multi exposure setting. I can make up to 9 exposures on a single "frame". I've done things where I zoomed in on an object an increment each exposure. It makes an interesting effect. Similar to that trick where you zoom in while taking a single shot but more controlled. I think I used that setting maybe twice playing around.

It actually has creative drawbacks.

If you had, say 5 shots that you were going to combine, and did this all on camera, you would end up with 1 end result - the one the camera thinks you want.

If you do it off camera, in photoshop or similar the creative posibilities are pretty limitless.

In doing it on camera, you have limited your options.

That is one of my favorite things to do with my Holga- love taking multiple exposures. With the Holga, I had to just guess at everything pretty much, then wait for the film to come back- some pictures were crap, but others were amazing (the photo lab manager at CVS actually asked to put some of them in their bathrooms.... and a week later both photos had been stolen. I was kind of proud!). If my T3i did multiple exposures, I'd definitely use it once in a while for fun shots!

What sort of stuff are you doing - abstract type stuff?
Wouldn't mind seeing some examples...might inspire me a little.
