Is this really an issue? I guess I am just old lol
I got a private message on my Flkr account from a total stranger warning me about the sexual exploits of another flkr member who is also not on my contact list LOL Its a very long drawn out drama fest, this message. Does anyone else get these types of messages from total strangers on flkr?! Is this really a problem where they spam mail people warning about cheaters?! It goes on to explain this "creep" broke up with a girl because she had breast cancer. Like I said TOTAL drama fest.... won't lie a tiny bit entertaining as well lol I am tempted to message back that since I am an old married lady with both boobs intact I think I am safe from this particular predator. I was just curious about the seeder side of Flkr. I stick with the animals, family and florals... what the hell have I been missing out on?!?!

Here is a copy and paste of the message I got. Like i said none of these people are on my contact list nor do I know them. I did delete the names:
"XXXX is a psychopathic, manipulative sexual predator.. He uses flickr to find naive girls and women to attempt to manipulate into a sexual relationship with him. If he detects that they are lonely or have been abused he uses this to further manipulate them. Once they are in the relationship with him he becomes increasingly abusive to them. When his lover told him she had breast cancer, he turned his back on her and refused to speak to her again. He sent her pornographic images which he said were of himself with his other lovers. He sent her links to videos depicting violence against women. XXXX is not a safe flickr contact. To the naive the contacts and coments on his stream give the false impression that he is safe. XXXX has been doing this for over six years but because of the victims he chooses, who don't speak out or simply walk away from flickr, he continues to be free to do this." I am not sure which is worse, hunting lonely women on a photography upload site, falling for it or writing total strangers all about it...

If they make you feel uncomfortable then block them immediately.

Yeah, most websites have "report" or "block" buttons for that. Frankly, due to the sender's questionable methods of warning the public at large, he looks like an attention seeker. Block that rubbish, and report to flickr management.

I've had people comment on some of my shots of my step daughter that when I looked at their profile, seemed VERY seedy, so I blocked them immediately. There are some creepers out there, but they are few and far between. For the most part, flickr has been fairly hassle free for me. Of course, I'm not easily offended either, so there's that.

Why is he reporting that you YOU instead of the Flickr mods? Sounds fishy to me...
No, I have never received any emails like that. I'd feel a little creeped out.

On the message center there is no report button.
