Default Guy that knows nothing about Photography has joined!

Hey All,

My name is Alex and I'm living in Sydney. Less then a week ago, I purchased my first camera. Just played around with it for literally 5 min, scimmed through the instructions and thought WTF - these terms... so so much terminology that is new to me.

Anyways, I purchased the Panasonic GF2 Twin lens kit from here

Over the New Year period, dropped into the Camera Warehouse at Parramatta Westfields and seen the GF2 for $1k, so I bought it from DWI Digital Cameras after a friend highly reccomended the website. Purcahsed the camera on Monday night, received it today! I also purchased a Sandisk 32GB SD card as memory off eBay for $40odd.

What I want the camera is to take pics, take up a new hobby, and myself and my partner love our cars, so instead of asking friends/photographers to take pics for us, why not learn and DIY?

I chose the GF2 as I wanted a compact camera, had a budget of ~$500, and a few friends highly reccomended this camera.

I'm looking forward to browsing this entire forum and definitely going to learn a thing or two upon every visit!

See you 'round!

Alex

Two tips:
1. Never trust anything posted by someone who doesn't link to or show their own work
2. Never trust anything posted by someone who does this:Flickr or this: EF 24-70mm f/2.8L.

Enjoy your stay.
