Ok, something for you Toronto-ites..
I'm going to be there for the next couple of weeks. Last week I dropped my 24-70 2.8, and now the zoom is so stiff that it's really hard to move. I thought I'd take the opportunity while I was in Canada to take my lens in for repair as the prices are likely to be less than getting it done here. I'll probably only be able to let them have it for a week. The lens isn't covered by warranty because it was my fault.. So do any of you have any recommendations as to where to go to get this done? Or should I take it to work with me tomorrow and get it fixed while I'm away and make do with my slower 16-85?

Nikon's repair facility proper is in Mississauga; they take drop-ins, but I dont know how quickly they'll turn it around.
Getting to Mississauga might be a pain if youre not driving, but it's very do-able.
