What is a good all-around photography magazine for beginner-to-intermediate folks on a budget?

No idea where in the world you live so can't really help. Suggest you go to a shop and read.

The UK mags seem to have more content and fewer ads than their American equivalents.

I'm not a big magazine reader. I usually just use the internet for my photography reading.
