Comparing my son's Nikon D80 with my D40, the D80 seems to be perhaps 2 stops less sensitive with the same lens, aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
That seems counter-intuitive, but before we start worrying about a fault, I thought I should check with people who know about this sort of thing - would one expect a D80 to be that much less sensitive? If not, any obvious things we should check for a cause? Thanks John Geddes England |

It shouldnt be different, especially not that far. Assuming the exact same scene, light and settings.

make sure all the custom settings are set back to the factory default modes ~and~ make sure the EV settings are centered to 0
