I'm sure they have bad days like the rest of us. I've never had a damaged package, and order a lot of stuff online. I've also been in a USPS sorting facility and seen them tossing packages into bins from twenty feet away. The fragile packages just have their own "fragile" bin but get treated the same way. So it's not just ups and fedex...

It annoy us when the postman delivers packages and posts them though the cat flap. Recently my husband ordered some motorbike parts and the UPS man shoved it though the cat flap. Meanwhile the kids came home from school and rushed to the computer and kicked the package under the computer desk without realizing. Everyday after my husband kept asking if the package has arrived and I kept saying no. He then phoned the company in question and they said that it was delivered by UPS but we thought the delivery man was telling lies so my husband got another packaged delivered. Three weeks later while printing off some paperwork he found the original package. He then went cap in hand to the company to explain. He was really embarrassed.

Moral of the story postman/delivery man - don't post things through the cat flap

So, it's the UPS guy's fault?
He delivered your parcel as schedule, put it in a safe place (inside the house, through the cat flap) but your kid hid it from you, unknowingly I admit, and it's the delivery guy's fault?
I'm sorry Rachel but I can't accept that.
I've worked for the postal service for 35 years and had to go through therapy for 8 months because I couldn't deal with that type of attitude anymore. People complaining, yelling and threatening us physically when it's their own fault.
So how about a different conclusion.
Moral of the story - I'll teach my kids not to kick stuff around in the house?
Sorry for the rant but I had to let it out.

It's not a cat; it shouldn't go through the cat flap unless the customer requested that. Clearly it wasn't a safe place, since was knocked out of the way by the door opening (which is entirely predictable, btw).

And the husband acted entirely civilly, by the sound of it, since when he found the package he reported it to the company.

Rant away, but this rant gets no sympathy from me.

I think its like anything else, you have your good ones and your bad ones.

My UPS guy is great! He is so nice and always has something kind to say. My regular mail lady is not good. She has broken a couple of things, one right in front of me and she didn't even apologize. She told me, "Should have gotten it insured"

That doesn't mean I hate the mail and love UPS! Its the drivers in my area, not the main office. I am sure in other areas UPS is a nightmare and the postman is wonderful.
