Howdy! Its been a few years since I posted here. I learned a ton from you guys with my G10 point and shoot. I learned most of what I could for my usage and have gotten 100s of compliments on my photos from friends and family.

Last night my hubby gifted me (for our Anniversary) a Rebel 3ti
He shocked the daylights out of me as I mentioned how one day I would like to get one but not any time soon. With it came 2 lenses and a bunch of other stuffs the salesman managed to sell him hehe

So now I feel a bit like a duck out of water. I know the very basics of ISO/TV/AV and composition working with my G10. I took a few photos tonight and they didn't come out very well. So here I am, back to the drawing board to learn how to use my DSLR to its fullest advantage.

I just wanted to stop by and say HI before I was off to read!

Nice! Enjoy the new camera. It's just like your G10 with interchangeable lenses

Welcome back Brooke.
Back to the drawing board but not to square one, at least.
The same principle you've learned still apply, you just have to learn to work your lenses into the mix.
Looking forward to see your work.

Thanks everyone!

I think I have overwhelmed my brain at this point Ha Ha

Right now I am trying to figure out what should be my first real lens. The one that came with the camera is the EF-S 18-55 mm. I usually take a lot of close up photos so I want something that has a close range but not sure if Macro would be too close.

I also want to get a telephoto mid line lens. The family is planning a trip to the Grand Canyon this summer and with my new camera ... you get the idea
