Default Gloves for Cold WX Photography

Recently I noticed a pair of gloves in a local lumber yard/home improvement store, and thought they looked worth a try. Glad I bit, I absolutely love 'em ..... and usually gloves just never seem to pan out for me. These not only work, but amazingly, are actually enjoyable to wear. They're made for framers (residential construction guys) and feature open fingers for the first two digits and thumb for unhindered manual dexterity. It works - for me. Neither too heavy nor too light, about the only thing I need to remove them for is if I wanna wash my hands, lol. About $15.

These are labeled "Handmaster / Pro Grade Plus". Just thought I'd pass it along....

My wife's knitting me a pair, just the thumb and forefinger missing. I could never find these anywhere, and I specifically checked hardware and hunting stores. Good find.

I went with the originals in coyote. No problems with the iPhone use, just be sure to press firmly:

To be fair, they're much better for simply cutting the wind off your hands and fingers. They don't have insulation. If you're going to be out in freezing-balls type temps, you'll want to wear proper gloves (at least while not shooting).

I'm on the lookout for a good set of convertable gloves, I have a set but they were a bit cheap and not the greatest of examples.

I surprised nobody has jumped on this yet. I'm still laughing about the "unhindered manual dexerity".

Glad you found what whorks best for you.

That's what I use. The pair I have has a slit in the thumb to fold it back that's actually perfectly positioned to spin the thumb dial on my camera without having to expose the entire top of my thumb. I can also slide out just my index finger without folding the mitten part all the way back.

The pair I got came from REI a couple of years ago. they change their styles every year, and are like these: REI Thermo Convertible Gloves/Mittens - Free Shipping at REI.com

I use aqua tech's gloves Stupid expensive for what they are (stealth gear sells the same thing..no idea on price) but my hands sweat unless it's REALLY cold (below freezing).

Ha, appreciate the video..thats service for you, thanks for that.

I've been looking at the tactical gloves at Gander Mtn. etc, but I like the look of these. the iphone use tipped it.
