Question Compare Nikon D200 and D5100

Which would you choose and why? I currently have a D200 and am thinking about getting a D5100...but I like my D200 and I'm not sure if I should "fix something that ain't broke". I also thought a D5100 was a an entry-level DSLR... I need a pro. So the comparison would also be a D200 or a D300s or a D700.

Thanks!

Wait for a D400.

Keep the D200 and do what Oz said.. The D5100 is good but not THAT good.. You could upgrade now to the D300 (No S) but I'm not sure you'd gain a huge amount. The D800 is out soon, which should bring down the price of s/hand D700's.

Doesn't sound like you "need" anything to me.....
I would not go to a D5100 from a D200, but the 5100 does have a better sensor.

I have a D200 too. Nice camera. As others have said, I'd stay the course. The 5100 is a huge step down (other than the better sensor) from the D200. You'd most likely be disappointed with a lower end model. Save your pennies for either a D400 (release next year maybe?) or if you can't wait for a newer camera, go with the D7000. There's a learning curve because the camera is set up a bit differently from the D200. But it has a better sensor & is a definite upgrade.
