Thumbs up $7 Website for an amateur photographer

I have hosted a $7 website and I would like to share with other amateur photographer who are keen to have a website of their own:

1) buy a $7.com or $12 .com.au domain from websites like Domain Names | Cheap Domain Names Australia

2) get a free Webhost with free Email exchange from
Free Web Hosting
This is a melbourne based company with excellent customer service, a little more research on whirlpool forums(au users) can help you find more free webhosting companies.

3) get free website scripts from website like
Minigal - a free, simple PHP image gallery - MiniGal - a free, simple and good looking PHP image gallery
or
Gallery | Your photos on your website

It might take a few hours to set-up the whole website depending on your IT skills. But I reckon if you follow the steps closely on each link, your website should be up and running soon.

I am not promoting any company just sharing a cheap way to build website for people who don't have big budgets.

Example of my $7 website is Sahil Mehta ??

Again I'm an amateur/hobbyist photographer so I don't have much fancy stuff on it..

Cheers
SM

I've just bought the unlimited $60 host plan from this company as the free one doesn't have any support. Seems okay, but I'm already having some problems adding on extra domains (I can have three).

I'll investigate those gallery links. TFS!

Bruce you can also look at Coppermine Photo Gallery

Coppermine is the most popular free php gallery scripts that I know but they are too complicated.

I registered with engenyes and I got a call within 30 mins and my account was active an running. If you have problem post it on their forums and hopefully someone should be able to help you. So far my experience is that - there is lot they can do from backend that we can't.

Cheers

I've had support tickets running from the weekend. And I've talked a few times with Tim, he's pleasant and obliging. I just don't understand why I had a problem with add on domains. However, I am transferring them over and that will (hopefully) solve the issues.
Thanks for links SM - yeah, I don't want anything too complicated.

So what's all this have to do with this thread?

Seems they can't do much from their back end at all - I've wasted so much time with this crowd it's unbelievable. And my problems still aren't fixed - stay tuned!

Finally, it seems things are working. But I can't really say why - except I switched back from Chrome to IE9 - that seemed to let me access the cpanel. I also reconfigured email to ssl servers. Anyway, to be fair, they certainly tried to help. So hopefully, no more problems.

Thats good if its all working.

Its good to hear that you mentioned that the company tried to help you. I had a free hosting service with nopayhost.com and they were good too but hopefully you'll have no more problems.

Well I ended having so much trouble it wasn't funny!

After a few angry tickets I sent they finally and very reluctantly gave me a refund. I have had absolutely no problems with my new hosting provider - cheaper and more features!
