I think the X-700 is a grat film camera for it's age. I still have two of them to use when I want to shoot film. The lenses other than the Minolta are probably lesser quality. it's only a good deal if it's something you're going to use. If you want to shoot film I think you'll be happy with the camera.

I have one of these squirrelled away in my basement somewhere.. Taken some nice photos with it before I went Nikon.
Sounds like the 135 2.8 might have a bit of mould. Store it away from the other lenses so the spores can't spread.. There may be some info on how to clean it if ou look about, it's a really useful length, so worth going to the effort if you can. http://photo.net/large-format-photography-forum/003BCt The price you paid for it seems reasonable, considering what you got. All those lenses wil fit on Sony Alphas so you would probably make a profit selling them separately.. Whether or not it was worth the money depends on whether you use it.. If you don't and it sits in a box like mine then it's expensive, even if you paid $5. If you use it a fair bit, then it's an absolute steel with some nice lenses. oh, and you'll probably be able to find lens caps on eBay..

I would check Ebay to see what each individual items are being bought for. The X700 and the 50mm are probably the more desirable out of the collection. I have 2 X370's that I still use. They are older, stripped down versions of the X700 but still pretty nice cameras to use. Did you get the prints from your first roll back? |

Thanks for the link Jon. the mold is on an inner element and I can't get to it though (unless there's a way to disassemble lenses? Seems Risky but it's already messed up lol). Bryan's right though, you need an adapter to get these lenses to work, they're too old for Sony Alphas.
As for the roll, I haven't developed it yet because I thought $10 was a bit pricey for prints and a CD, and I haven't had time to shop around too much. I'll try a couple other places and see what I can find. Is there such a device that you can buy that will take a roll of film and upload it to your computer via USB? I don't really need prints (at least not when I'm just learning) and I do really love editing. It'd be a shame to miss out on it all |

You would have to at least have the film developed where you would have the negatives. If you have a scanner, you could then scan the negatives on the computer. You have the option of developing only at most places, but I think it's the majority of the cost, anyway.
