I would like to do some type of project in the coming year to help be grow in my photography and editing abilities. I've tried 365 numerous times and failed every.single.time.
It's just to many pictures. I don't have the time it takes to do a 365. I end up missing a ton of days and then half the days are just crappy shots I snapped real quick to get my pic for the day. I was looking over my Flikr from the past year and it's now filled up with a bunch of crummy shots. I'm thinking of doing a 52 project this coming year instead. One really nice photo a week....... I thought it might be nice to follow some sort of theme for the week. Like laughter, joy, frames, black and white.....etc...Does this sound like a good project? Reasonable to accomplish? Any ideas for 52 themes? I mainly photograph my family. I like capturing those little moments in life.

Sounds like a good project to me. Maybe you could make your family your theme and promise a book of your best at the end of the year, as a kind of incentive to finish. (Knowing your shots will be printed and seen by others might boost your desire to improve your post processing skills.) If you have kids, maybe you could get them involved to come up with creative ideas for the shoots. The more they are involved, the more likely they won't grumble every time you pick up your camera.

I could never keep up with a 365, so I started a Foto February. Intending to make a website for it this time around (www.fotofebruary.com), but haven't got around to it yet :/
